Vitamin C in your skin care routine-A Responsible dermatologist suggestion

We have heard a lot about the importance of moisturizer, sunscreen, cleanser and how to form a basic regime. But we are not going to concentre about all of that in this blog, but I’m going to concentre more about the molecules because I see a lot of people using all the molecules such vitamin C, Retinol, Alicyclic and much more.

Somewhere they’re lost in between not knowing which one is actually required, which one they can forego. And and yes, there’s always a lot of confusion about this.

To start with, I’m going to talk about vitamin C.

Vitamin C is basically an antioxidant. It is a photo protective agent, It is going to reduce the cell damage. It also revives your cell cycle and also reduces your melanin production. So you can introduce vitamin C as one of the first molecule in your skin care. If you have cell damage and if you’re looking for anti-aging purposes and if you if you want to start a routine like early in your age, like around twenties then vitamin C is a good molecule to actually introduce depending upon your skin type.

Vitamin C is not going to give you that immediate glow, it does give you a slow response, but it is going to be a sustainable response.

So one of the most important molecules that can be introduced early in life is Vitamin C, also vitamin C can cause a lot of purging. So generally for people who have acne prone skin, I personally do not recommend vitamin C. And also for people who suddenly have a breakout with vitamin C, I try to remove it from their regime.

But otherwise vitamin C is a very good molecule and can be tried in the early stage of life.

Oral vs topical?

I generally recommend topical Vitamin C. Because anyways, even if you are on oral Vitamin C. You need topical Vitamin C to work on the epidermal layer, since the oral vitamin C might not reach that level. And also in general vitamin C in combination with the Hyaluronic acid or Ferulic acid or Vitamin E works better than Vitamin C Standalone.

Vitamin C is pregnancy safe, So anyone who is planning or who are pregnant can still be using vitamin C.
